As someone who create audio recorded material of my own for business and external clients, I want to make sure I have the best software, but still at a manageable price.
Unlike in the 80s, where we needed to invest very heavily in the equipment we used, we can now use a moderate powered laptop computer and still create very powerful recordings.
One such software package is Sony Creative Software Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 – 2011.
I have found the software to work very well and efficiently, and I am running a computer with 4 Gig if Ram that is around 4 years old. Hence, I a, well aware that you don’t have to have the latest machine around for this.
Naturally, the processing functions will work faster in a more modern machine, but the idea here is to ensure that your computer, whatever type is being used, does not have too may other functions running when you are using audio software. This is a cross the board recommendation, as audio applications can use quite a lot of processing power and if you are bogging your computer down with other functions you may experience some audio glitches.
Please note I am making the recommendation generally, and not in reference to this software specifically.
The software also includes some handy extra features, like
- Record and edit audio from virtually any source
- Digitize and restore vinyl and cassettes
- Vocal Eraser to create custom karaoke tracks
- Over 30 built-in effects & processes
- Follow along with Show Me How tutorials and learn as you go
These are very powerful attributes on their own, give the potential complexity of the program.
I have found you will be able to typically use it out of the box in a basic form, but given the many options it has, you may need to use some of the tutorials included with it.
I genuinely feel you will be able to get this software up and running in no time at all.
In the event that you are not based in the USA, you can also obtain the software from the Internet Audio Guy, as he does ship overseas.
